Struggling with wearing mask for a long time! Headaches!!

I've just started a care job in a care home and to wear a mask at all times. By the end of the shift I have an awful headache. I'm not sure if it's the pressure of the face mask, lack of oxygen or the fact that I cant drink hardly anything. Anyone else?

I’m unsure why you can’t drink. I’m a nurse and I still get to drink. It’s the lack of fluids giving you a headache.

Only on my break, cant sip on the shift as cant remove the mask. It's so hot in there....

Make sure you have plenty to drink on each break. It takes about 4 hours for your stomach to empty, so you'll be getting fluids into your blood stream over time. Maybe ask for a couple of minutes extra break after a couple of hours for a quick top up.

Having something to sip from when you're working in a care home doesn't sound particularly hygienic at the best of times.

I agree, that's why I cant drink until my break. X

It'll be lack of fluid. Unless a make a conscious effort to drink a lot when the mask is off I end up feeling very thirsty.

Lack of oxygen thing has been debunked.

Drink more water

I'll down more water on my break. I think I've been conscious about needing the toilet too much as there is barely time to go!
