Booked holiday with friends ?

Can someone clarify this for me? We had a holiday booked with friends ( cottage in uk ) it's for 13th July. Holiday is still going ahead with company but are we allowed as it will be mixing with different households indoors ?

At the moment, it has to be two households and with social distancing if you are indoors together

It's 3 ( in total ) households we've booked with. Whilst us adults can social distance I wouldn't imagine after a few days will be able to. It'll be a nightmare tbh.

I think you all have to agree what you are happy with in terms of risk.

Three households in a holiday home isn’t allowed, it’s clarified on the gov website. Two households are allowed whilst sticking to 2m distancing where possible.

No one I know is socially distancing anymore . I've given up crossing the road to avoid others now
Yesterday some bloke literally squeezed past me in the local mini mart his body actually touched mine he didn't give me a chance to leave the aisle to let him.go through

It isn't allowed and I doubt it will be by your holiday on 13 July. But it is ridiculous when you will be able to get on a plane with 100 other households and jet off to another country on holiday, and yet we can't even have 2 households together indoors without social distancing.

Well this is the thing isn't it - I went to a national park the other weekend and had to leave cus honest to god you couldn't move for people. Yet that's ok but we risk just losing all our money because there's an extra household. I feel safe doing it - I know where they've been etc, but I don't want to get into trouble or obv course putting ourselves at others at risk if the government feel it isn't safe to do so. I just don't know what to do.

Sorry I meant us adults can social distance but the kids will struggle

Have you spoken to the other households? What do they think? Also may depend on the holiday let as it may invalidate their insurance if it is against the lock down rules.

Yeah they're absolutely fine to go.

I mean if one of you got sick then you would have to tell track and trace what you had been up to - embarrasing

We have a big break with lots of us - does anyone know where we stand asking for a date change or refund if it is illegal to go?

I am still going away, just me and 2 friends. No kids. Yes, 3 households. But we will social distance where possible.

It’s a self catering cottage and all been paid for.

Why can’t 2 families take the cottage and one take another booking?

We've looked at that. It's quite a remote area and no where is available within budget. The thing is as well, there are people continuing to go on caravan park holidays, hotels etc where they will no doubt encounter more people. We will be in a remote village and other than going to the supermarket once we won't encounter any other people. We shall not be going to any pubs , eating out etc it'll just be us. Think I've made up my mind. Thank you all though

It's guidance not legislation. So while the govt advise against it, they actually can't stop you if you are happy to take the risk.
