Anyone relaxing the rules a bit in case of an autumn 2nd peak?

I'm considering it. Very few cases here and our close family are in the same position as us. Wfh, limited shopping etc.

It seems autumn could be when the 2nd peak might hit. And, with colds etc anyway people will be self isolating all the time.

I'm considering almost going back to normal visiting. Still with very good hygiene. I don't think my parents could wait until next year to cuddle my 2 year old 😥

That's probably why there will be a second peak Shock

Can you not see any possible link there, op?

GabriellaMontez · 18/06/2020 19:00

Yes. If no one has been at work or school now would be a good time. This would not be the cause of a second wave.

I can't remember how to link. But the path is at the bottom.

The WHO have said this today.

My thinking is that while our children aren't at school, everyone is wfh and no one is doing anything different now is a good time.

I'm not trying to cause a 2nd peak, just trying to enjoy our lives while everyone is bubbled.

My daughter stands back from people now. It's good as she's social distancing but it's so sad.

WHO have said it's essential to get a robust and effective contact tracing system in place before any further lifting of lockdown measures.

Yesterday's comments, from the same man, should be seen in that context and not as a green light to go back to normal for a bit before a second wave.

The idea is to prevent a second wave, not treat it as inevitable and get a bit of fun in first.

Nobody was 'trying' to cause the first peak, either.

OP I think that there are a lot of people who are meeting up with close family, and have continued to do so throughout lockdown. I think that if you have two households within a family where neither household is working outside the home or going to school there would be minimal risk .
