Tips on motivating small kids to do their work

Hi guys - just that really. Monday is often a struggle I remind them that it's Monday as soon as they wake up! I've had incidents where it's fine as a shock to them.

I'm currently doing stamps and rewards - they are age 8 and 5. To be honest the 5 year old reads each day and does a bit of maths and phonics I'm not asking for her it's the year 3 age 8 child! Who is bright and loves school but is really frustrated with doing any work!

Help!

Maybe just ease into the week?

So Monday mornings are stuff like Lego or playdoh or painting? Read in the afternoon (set Y3 away on a 30min read while you listen to the 5yo read)

Thanks @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz that's actually what they've done this morning - played Lego we did some craft - sat in the garden - made pancakes and now just getting a school task done before lunch
