Why are the protestors not being arrested (England)?

They are breaking the social distancing rule which I think is currently law?

There is the right to peaceful protest regardless of other laws.

I don’t think the police had the resources. Not enough police/van space/cell space for all those prats.

Because arresting people could start a riot and most of the protests have been very civilised. I don’t agree with protests during a pandemic and do worry about it increasing the risk of spread, but I can’t fault most of the protesters.

The guy who spat at a picnicker needs to be found and arrested.
