How are you all doing ? I work for a supermarket so been through it all from the start of this. It's been very stressful and the attitude of some people has been disgusting.

But just wanted to be positive as we keyworkers have done so well and we should be proud of ourselves in what ever sector you work kn as a keyworker. It's been tough but and upsetting at times. But keep going we are the backbone of this country.

[Note from MNHQ: title was originally 'To all keyworkers who have worked through this' and has now been changed at OP's request]*

I’m avoiding most of the news, but can we say definitely that if we’re had CV19 once we can’t get it again? Sorry, this should probably be better in another topic 😳

I've just about had enough tbh. Im a clinician in the NHS. My job has become more awful than I could ever have imagined, and is set to continue getting worse, for possibly years to come.Sadly in my specialty the peak is yet to come. Additionally my own children secondary school aged children have had their lives torn apart with no end in sight and watching them become more and more despondent is breaking my heart. The ongoing stress of trying to protect their mental health, support them to do school work, and juggle my horrendous job is taking its toll and I honestly dont know how much longer I can do it. I am looking into options such as selling the house, even bankruptcy so I can give up my job and focus on the kids....but there are no easy options. Just having a little cry into my coffee before heading off to work. Sad

@SpiritEssence

I heard today one of my work colleagues got spat on by a man as he was asked to leave the store as was being abusive to staff

We also had a customer told to leave the shop today as they were abusing and threatening staff. Luckily there was no spitting. Beyond belief sometimes. I've just booked a few days off in a couple of weeks, nice to have something to look forward for a change.

Community carer here .I work in a small team in a rural area and we are so extremly relieved we have had no cases of covid.I would be devastated if we did we all think the absolute world of the people we care for .I have truly amazing bosses who come out and work with us and who genuinely care we are all ok .We are supporting each other we are a close team .I am not going to lie though it has emotionally drained me .I have cried driving to work because of the sheer enormity and i am really scared we will have a second peak .I love my job have done it for years and will carry on doing so but it is so bloody hard at the moment.

@OnceUponAMidnightBeery I think they're still on the fence. some claims of people getting it twice but this seems to be more likely cases of relapse rather than recovered and then reinforced again.

NHS AHP here.
I'm actively looking for other jobs as I'm worried how will I cope over the next few months. It's about manageable just now for me but I can only imagine the pressure once we reopen more services with waiting lists doubled but service delivery halfed due to covid restrictions.

@Weepinggreenwillow, that all sounds very hard - I hope you're okay.

I agree that the long term consequences for the NHS will be so so difficult to deal with. So much has been put on hold - how will we ever catch up?

Aaaaaaaargh. I have worked on something all this week and last weekend and a new bit of guidance today means I now have to go back over it all again.
I am so tired.
