Ok. I know this will probably change over the next few days. We can be grateful that in the last period they counted, no new deaths were recorded. It’s a very small victory, but some good news.

Yep great news!! Shame load of people will Be throwing all the last ten weeks work down the drain by going to Black loves matter rallies in Glasgow and Edinburgh this afternoon.

Even though the Scottish government (Nicola) asked them please don’t go!! Hopefully it will be peaceful!!

Nanalisa60 · 07/06/2020 15:19

Black lives matter not Black loves matter !!

Also, Only 7 people in intensive care in Scotland with covid at the moment.

Although registering of deaths is always lower over the weekend this is really encouraging. People need to stick with lockdown and distancing measures though, this isn't a green light that everything's better.

TheGlaikitRambler · 07/06/2020 15:22

Only 6 new cases have been recorded in my area of Scotland in June. Good news indeed.

TerrapinStation · 07/06/2020 15:23

How up to date has previous Scottish reporting over the weekend been? I'd want to know that before getting too positive but any reduction is of course a very good sign

There appears to be an attempt at social distancing in Glasgow and Edinburgh protests. But it still does not sit well so many people gathering just now. Right sentiment wrong time.

Fingers crossed that this is good news for Scotland.

If the protesters wear masks & can generally stand 2m apart hopefully the risks will be reduced.

Just noticed it’s the same news from Northern Ireland www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2020/jun/07/uk-coronavirus-live-matt-hancock-health-chiefs-debate-lockdown-easing-covid-19-latest-updates

Theres a post going round Instagram pleading from the organisers of the protest pleading with people to wear masks and gloves, use hand sanitiser and keep 2 meters apart. They've also reduced the length of the protest and moved it to Glasgow Green.
A girl i follow went to one in London yesterday and and said she witnessed more social distancing at the protest than she did walking home and seeing people enjoy their take away cocktails.

TerrapinStation, I see zero deaths reported today as good news as there have been 9 deaths reported on the last three previous Sundays (17th, 24th and 31st May)

Nanalisa60 · 08/06/2020 20:37

Second day no deaths, long may it continue!!
