Completely agree that these protests are worthy and needed. I understand the anger as best I can and absolutely the world needs to change and I'm sick to my stomach about the police brutalities in the US but I'm so worried about the impact on coronavirus.

Anyone got any further thoughts to help me work this out in my head. I kinda feel like I'm on the wrong side of history and that I should be fully supporting the protests. I am just so terrified of the potential impact on the R and the NHS. We were making poor progress as it was.

George F is guilty of pointing a gun at a pregnant woman's stomach how does this make him a hero years ago Sandra bland was killed by police when she was pulled over in her car and her indicator light wasn't working why didn't they protest back then ?
It's the wrong time to protest now after months of staying in lockdown those protesting are putting lives at risk

After the events of this weekend the government should immediately send all children back to school and stop harming them.

Everybody should be back at work to prevent further harm to the economy and further job losses.

The NHS should reinstate every suspended appointment, treatment and begin operating all services as before to prevent the countless indirect deaths from this mess.

The only thing the events of the weekend have proven is that nothing else matters.

500,000 predicted deaths do not matter.

It's not just police brutalities in US its happening right here in UK. Been happening for decades, riots in the past have occurred because of this unjust treatment. To be honest I feel most people of colour black or Asian have experienced some sort of racism.

No ih doesnt make him a hero, and however unpleasant, his previous misdemeanours are irrelevant. He was unlawfully killed by a member of the police force.

StealthPolarBear · 08/06/2020 17:21

I hope that the fact they were outdoors is positive

@howdidwegetheremary

I posted about the numbers protesting today in the UK. I’m in the NW and after the reports or the R rate rising above 1 yesterday 15k turned up in Manchester.

I genuinely support the cause but innocent lives are being put at risk here as the fact is that if the virus continues to spread more will die. If restrictions continue there will be countless indirect deaths.

I fully agree that the US should be ashamed of its law enforcement.

It's not just the US police force. Its rife over here too
