Private cleaning companies, dual employees

I was shocked to read a post on Fb from a lady who works for two separate cleaning companies, so that she cleans the local GP surgery and also the local secondary school. She was asking if anyone had some masks they could give her as none were being supplied. Another poster who worked at the school checked with the cleaning company and came back to say that masks were being provided by them.

1 Do cleaning companies have to provide appropriate PPE? Please say the answer is yes! I googled a little but couldn't see the relevant guidance.

2 I hadn't thought about the fact that some people are employed by two cleaning companies to clean two different settings, maybe one a healthcare one. Has any thought been given to the risk of cross infection? Eg Are such employees directed to change all clothing in between jobs.

3 The poor lady seemed at best confused at worst exploited. Apparently misinformed. Is it too much to hope private cleaning companies are properly training and briefing their staff at this time?

No one on Mumsnet knows about cleaners' situations?

I’m a cleaner but don’t work for a company. I would hope she was using completely different sets of equipment for both jobs and washing uniform or clothing between each job. Also obviously changing her PPE for each job.
Also wearing coverings on shoes.
If the company isn’t providing her with a mask, she probably isn’t adhering to the rest of it if she can’t even get hold of masks!
I would be really concerned about this.
Do the company display their policy on their website?

It did seem later that it was confirmed that masks were being provided. Apparently she'd been on furlough and wasn't up to speed on what was happening. I think she should have been properly briefed and trained though!
Thanks for responding.
