Illegal for people to meet inside

This specifically talks about sex. But it’s anyone going into a house that isn’t their own.
I am worried about my friend who is in a relationship with someone they don’t live with and haven’t had physical contact, even a hug in over 10 weeks.

Well nothing really has changed massively, as this wasn’t allowed anyway.
However I think it’s worrying that this law is being implemented today, as that suggests the position isn’t going to change any time soon.
My mum lives alone, as does my grandma. My grandad died 2 weeks before lockdown, and has been alone since. It’s really bloody hard. I know my mum keeps thinking ‘at the next review I’ll be allowed to hug my grandkids’ but this new law seems to just put it further out of reach.

I agree. Lots of people are in the same situation as your friend. My daughter being one of them. It’s so difficult, and she also suffers with anxiety, which is getting worse. We have all been discussing this, and she’s come to the conclusion that she’s going to hug her boyfriend. Outdoors only. I can’t see her mental health suffer any more. We are rule followers, and we have thought long and hard about this. But the chance of catching it (according to the briefing yesterday) is 1 in 1000, they have basically been isolated with only their household for ten weeks, no shopping etc - so I think the risk is incredibly low. But the risk to her mental health if they stay apart is much higher.
I think as soon as they allow the hospitality sector to open, they will have to drop this rule. They have completely overlooked long term partners.

I’m very worried about this and the fact it’s veen brought in now. My parents and family live at least 4 hours away by car and so we’d have to stay with them or them with us if we were to see them. I suppose air B&Bs would be ok too, but it depends on if they’re open by then obviously.
