Are you sending your child back to nursery next week?

Just wondering, as no nurseries near me have updated their websites yet with new measures, so I was curious if others were going to send there little ones back from June 1st?

Yes, I am. We received details via email, not sure they are putting anything on the website though. Are they supposed to?

If we were allowed to in Scotland yes I absolutely would be. Sadly we aren’t, which is causing me major grief with my employer (whose latest suggest was I get up at 5am to do 5-9am shift then again 8pm-midnight so I can “work around my children, 4 days a week).

Yes, mine are going back on Monday. Very happy with the nursery’s plans.

Nursery are open for all children from next week but we’re sending DD back in mid-June as DH has some annual leave until then.

Like pp, our nursery sent out their new measures to all parents via email but no mention of it on either their business Facebook or actual website

Yes, DS is going back on Monday. Reduced hours as that's all they can accommodate.
They've sent details of their risk assessment and plans for children which I'm happy with.
DS needs to go and interact with other children, doing what's best for him and us in this situation

Have asked to be furloughed having thus far been on unpaid mat leave which ends next week.

Sadie789 - I was due to come back from maternity leave when the lockdown started, luckily managed to be furloughed till now, but they've also stopped furloughing now, basically saying I have to be in.

Yes, DD2 is back next Thursday. Nursery policies seem very sensible - lots of extra hygiene measures, no parents allowed in building, no toys from home, children in bubbles of max 10, but no masks and no attempts at social distancing. Not sure who’s looking forward to it most, DD or us!

Yes, my DD was due to start nursery a month ago which had to be delayed due to lockdown.

She will be starting full days on Tuesday as the nursery are closed Monday for staff training on the new rules and procedures. She has been having her settling in sessions this week with the key-worker children who have been attending this whole time.

Yes back next week and the nursery has a very similar approach to @TempsPerdu's busy which I'm really happy with. If there has been plans to try to socially distance them she wouldn't be going back.

Yes I am. I feel like it’s the right time. It’s for the best now so he can get out socialising with other toddlers again and me and DP and looking forward to be able to work from home without all the distractions. Time to get some normality back before we all break down.

I’m keeping DD at home until mid June just because I am furloughed so I’m home anyway. I am also happy with their plans/risk assessment info i have been sent so no worries on that front! We have had all correspondence via email, nothing updated on website or social media.

Yup. Very happy with nursery’s risk assessments and measures they’ve introduced so mine will be back (reduced hours due to cap on numbers) from next week.

Nop, combination of mine and dh choice and the nurseries ability to take them back just yet.

I was sent a questionnaire about 2 weeks ago to establish our childcare needs.
DH and I discussed before replying that we would be happier sending dcs to our parents before they return to nursery.

As it turns out the nursery aren't taking back all of their children just yet (small with only 30 children), so have done risk assessments on every child and then looked at the results of the questionnaire to establish the greatest need. I think it's the fairest way.

No, not yet. He's only 15 months so everything goes in his mouth, and I don't feel he needs socialisation yet. We'll see how infection rates go in the next month, as they're still quite high and where I live is a hot spot.

Yes! 2.5 and very happy with what’s been communicated so far. Plus she really wants to talk to anyone other than her parent!

Yes. He's 3 and is beginning to really struggle. His behaviour has become shockingly bad the last few weeks. Not his fault, but he needs some routine back, a change of scene and some socialising. His baby sister needs some actual attention. As selfish as it sounds, I need a break. I hope it will do all of us some good. It's only two days a week and I'm happy with the measures the nursery are implementing.
