Tories starting to flee a sinking ship?

Good to see a minister actually listening to his constituents. One who may get re-elected in the next election as a result.

Finally someone has a moral compass in our Government that actually cares a jot about what the public feel, have been through and continue to experience during lockdown. If they want to regain any credibility and the public to listen to their guidance again during this pandemic it’s another persons resignation that is required.

Quite impressed. If you'd asked me to name a Tory MP in Scotland who would do that, I doubt I'd be able to think of one, so good for him.

It's been pointed out that for a Minister to feel the need to resign rather than the spad is unprecedented.

Another Tory MP has also now come out against Dominic Cummings, saying if he had been in the adviser’s shoes he would have considered his position over his actions in making a 264-mile lockdown trip.

Simon Jupp, who represents East Devon, explained he had been contacted by hundreds of people in response to Cummings’ actions, saying he has “felt a mixture of anger, disappointment and frustration in recent days” over the revelations.

Two other Conservative politicians have rounded on Dominic Cummings this morning, joining a growing revolt in the party.

The BBC reports that the Tory MP for West Worcestershire, Harriet Baldwin, has called for Cummings to resign, saying that members of the government and advisers should be “subject to a higher bar”.

Meanwhile, the Tory MSP Adam Tomkins said the ministerial resignation of Douglas Ross “shows exactly why Cummings should be sacked”, adding: “I suspect others will follow where Douglas has led.”

Douglas Ross is a twat. He is a proper Tory who would rather get paid to be a football referee than what he was elected (and paid) to do. I am glad that he has gone and if more MPs resign we may have another general election doubt it though and finally get rid of the Conservatives.

According to a new poll, 59% of Britons think Dominic Cummings should resign now.

The data showed 52% of those surveyed who voted Leave at the 2016 EU referendum want Cummings to resign, compared to 38% who thought he should stay, so this is not just 'bitter' Remainers who want him to go.

I've seen polls with much higher results of people saying Cummings should resign. Frankly he should be sacked!

We can only hope Tory mps continue to resign and it triggers another election which would hopefully at least reduce the Tory majority if not return a labour govt

TreeTopTim · 26/05/2020 15:05

He shouldn't be given the option of resigning he should just be sacked.

RainMustFall · 26/05/2020 17:13

It's irrelevant, the Minister will be replaced and forgotten and Cummings won't resign, nor be sacked.
