I've been so good so far, I've followed the rules to the letter. But I've had enough now.

I want to see my mum and dad and my DC are missing their grandparents so much.

They have a huge garden, with a pool. All I want to do is spend some time over their.

I don't know if it's just the weather, it's gone on so long or it's this Dominic Cummings bullshit which has spurred be on !

Someone talk me down !!

Go if you want. Or don't. It's up to you.

GreyGardens88 · 25/05/2020 11:00

Follow your instincts

MynephewR · 25/05/2020 11:02

I say go for it, I definitely would for the pool alone Grin

FergusSingsTheBlues · 25/05/2020 11:02

Well just go if you want, who cares.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 25/05/2020 11:02

Maybe the government wants the second wave to be our fault.

Kcnana · 25/05/2020 11:02

Go for it.

PumpkinP · 25/05/2020 11:10

I am, I'm off to my sister's house today. I'm not sticking to the rules anymore

BirdieFriendReturns · 25/05/2020 11:12

I would if mine lived nearer.

MrsJoshNavidi · 25/05/2020 11:12

What would Dominic do?

rulebreaker645 · 25/05/2020 11:13

Not the reaction I was expecting 😂

They are only 10 mins away. Pool day here I come ! 😂

@MrsJoshNavidi I may just live my life by a new motto. WWDCD. Wink

Only you can decide if that’s ok or not. Everyone has to do their own risk assessment to ensure everyone involved is safe and protected. 🤷‍♀️

Oxyiz · 25/05/2020 11:16

As long as your parents are fine about, why not? Expecially if you're all mostly outside. If they have two toilets so you can all use one and they use another one that would be good too.

duckme · 25/05/2020 11:16

100% we'd be going! I'd have been there all the way through if they have a pool and a huge garden.

YouSetTheTone · 25/05/2020 11:17

Mine have a huge garden and a pool and we’re going today (they’re 5 mins away). We have been for about 4 weeks. None of us go out apart from occasional trip to shops. Community transmission is low where we are and we’ve stayed outside in the garden each time we’ve gone.
Once two of the DC are back in nursery we’re less likely to visit so are making the most of it now.

rulebreaker645 · 25/05/2020 11:21

They have an outside loo which will be 'ours' so no need to go into the house atall. Both households only been out for food shopping. They are young grandparents so not at risk.

Fuck it. I've talked myself into it.

My unscientific reasoning is chlorine surely kills the corona anyway 😂

OP posts:
TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 25/05/2020 11:21

Go for it. Have a lovely time. Just stay outdoors and keep your distance. There is very little virus in the community now so it's highly unlikely it's risking anything or anyone.

rulebreaker645 · 25/05/2020 11:21

@YouSetTheTone have a great day. Enjoy !

trappedsincesundaymorn · 25/05/2020 11:22

After yesterday I'm beginning to think that there are no rules to break. I'm meeting up with a friend this week for a picnic. I'm picking her up in my car (she doesn't drive), and going to one of the many beauty spots in the region. We're looking forward to it.

Helenj1977 · 25/05/2020 11:31

Do it. It's not like you'll be indoors. Enjoy 😀

YouSetTheTone · 25/05/2020 11:32

@rulebreaker645 thank you, and you! We’ve said the same re chlorine Grin

Honestly, it’s good for your mental health.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 25/05/2020 11:38

I went to my cousins garden yesterday. We socially distanced at all times, my toddler did go in their pool. We have no outside space where we live and I have to say it has done all of our mental health the world of good. It was draining going to the park every day which is a far walk away. We could just relax while the toddler ran around and chat.

Sunbird24 · 25/05/2020 11:38

I went and spent a couple of hours in my parents’ garden with them this weekend, having not seen another human being for a week, and not expecting to for another week now. We stayed 2m apart, the level of risk was acceptable to all of us based on our own circumstances. I also talked to my sibling about it beforehand, and if they’d been set against it I wouldn’t have gone. If you and your family are happy with the plan and it has no impact on anyone else, I’d say go for it.

MintyMabel · 25/05/2020 11:41

this Dominic Cummings bullshit which has spurred be on !

If that’s the reason you are an idiot.

harper30 · 25/05/2020 11:41

We're doing that today and going to sit in my parents garden for the afternoon, I was already thinking of it but DP wanted to stick to the rules. But after the events of this week his opinion has also swung to 'fuck it!' Our parents haven't seen DD for months and I'm really excited. We'll stay outside and keep a distance but we've weighed up the risks ourselves and as two households we've followed the rules for months and none of us have reason to believe we're a risk to the other, no more thank it's a risk getting the weekly shop, and I'm still doing that.
So fuck it.
