Shall we all just go and visit our loved ones?

Because what’s the point of abiding by these current ‘rules’ if the government doesn’t believe in them?

Michael Gove: ‘Caring for your wife and child is not a crime.’

So we’re clear that ‘caring’ for loved ones is a legitimate excuse for travelling hundreds of miles.

Let them scrabble around at briefings after the R goes up. Let them try to impose lockdown with a depleted police force who can’t even supervise a lively Brexit protest. Very tempted to just throw the towel in if the sociopath Cummings isn’t sacked.

The hypocrisy is absolutely staggering. It will have huge public health consequences.

To answer your first question - yes.

I’ve just got back from visiting my shielding grandmothers. She is 89 and it’s her birthday.

I took my own fold up chair and a flask And sat at the bottom of her garden path while she sat at her door with a coat on. We didn’t touch once and we were always two meters apart.

She’s not been out the entire time and we both throughly enjoyed it. I shall be doing it again next weekend weather permitting.

They all seem to be hypocrites.

Let’s not forget that Boris went to his second home on leaving hospital - but no one else is allowed to go to their second home. (Of course if you are a Scottish politician and do this you have to resign. But apparently different rules apply if you are PM).

No. Just because member of our government have made foolish decisions doesn't mean we have to follow suit. There are still people out there that really don't want to catch CV.

I didn't start social distancing because the government told us to, but because the risks of not doing it were clear before the govt finally took action. And I'm not going to stop because they're hypocrites. But I will weep for the quality of leadership we have in this dire situation.

I agree @UnaOfStormhold.
