I'm just fed up. Why can't they remember without me always saying it???

Yuck. They are disgusting

Selfsettling3 · 17/05/2020 21:04

Even my just 4 year old usually remembers.

managedmis · 17/05/2020 21:05

Pretty bad tbh

ssd · 17/05/2020 21:11

Oops. I don't mean after going to the loo, is that what it looks like?
I meant after coming in the door, I want them washing their hands straight away now, incase they bring the virus home.

Sorry for confusion.

I'm with you op. I am constantly reminding dh, ds15 & ds13. They are nearly as bad as dd6 who has additional needs - at least I can justify helping her to wash hers (and therefore know they are done properly!). Only me and dd11 seem to take it seriously. Luckily we're not going out much as we're shielding youngest dd, but that won't always be the case.

TBH I think that some of us are naturally hygienic people and wash our hands often, Covid 19 or not.

Some of us aren't - and these are the buggers you have to keep your eye on.😉

coming in the door from... where? Where do they go out to? Is it beyond the garden?

ssd · 17/05/2020 23:57

Yeah, like outside, coming in from outside. I want them washing their hands when they return home. From frigging anywhere.

Whenever I come in from outside during all of this, I feel like my hands are dirty and I go straight to wash them before hugging kids etc. Even if they don't feel that, you shouldn't have to keep reminding them! They could do it out of consideration for you if nothing else.

Undies1990 · 18/05/2020 09:54

It shouldn't be necessary for grown adults, but can you put up a "wash your hands" note on the inside of the front door? It'll remind them when they come in, close the door and see the note.

ssd · 18/05/2020 12:51

A note is a good idea!
