Never ever ever.

grandmasterstitch · 15/05/2020 20:13

I hope soon! Imagine being able to sit on someone else's sofa with a brew, it'll be like being on holiday!

Felicitycity · 15/05/2020 20:24

Loads of people are doing it already. I've seen or heard about people flouting the rules. Actually i'm hard pushed to think of anyone who isn't.....Just have to take my dad to the garden centre.....My mum needs to go shopping.........We 're going for a distance walk with our grandson ( 2 of us with 2 of them _ isn't it maximum 1 to 1?) My family is off to the seaside for the day.... Pisses me off no end.

ginsparkles · 15/05/2020 20:25

Isn't that supposed to be stage 2? So the same time as opening non essential shops. 1st June at the earliest

backaftera2yearbreak · 15/05/2020 20:26

Surely if your in England you just fake employ a cleaner or nanny then voila! They can come in?

Bumpandus · 15/05/2020 20:28

Probably not til next year I reckon. It’s getting me down as I’m a single mum of two and if we could just see one other household it would make such a difference!

Felicitycity · 15/05/2020 20:29

There's a group of people following the rules....they 're never going to be able to sit on someone's sofa having a cup of tea. There's another group that are exempt from the rules that are already doing it because they're special.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 15/05/2020 20:49

It will come, have faith and wait a bit longer. Here in Spain 51% of us can now meet in private homes or on restaurant terraces In groups of up to 10. Still have to maintain distance of 2m between households.

Stay strong for a bit longer and don’t throw away what’s been achieved. . If Spain can get here, so can the UK.😊💕

Thanks for all the replies.

@ginsparkles where does it say it’ll be in stage two? I can’t find the info.

@Bumpandus I hope not! I won’t be able to last until next year. I can’t do it.

In fairness it says it's asked Sage when it will be safe, but it's in the phase 2 section which indicates to me this is their hope ....

In particular this has affected the isolated and vulnerable, and those who live alone. As restrictions continue, the Government is considering a range of options to reduce the most harmful social effects to make the measures more sustainable.
For example, the Government has asked SAGE to examine whether, when and how it can safely change the regulations to allow people to expand their household group to include one other household in the same exclusive group.29
The intention of this change would be to allow those who are isolated some more social contact, and to reduce the most harmful effects of the current social restrictions, while continuing to limit the risk of chains of transmission. It would also support some families to return to work by, for example, allowing two households to share childcare.30

My SIL is thinking of putting a fake For Sale sign to in her garden
That way we can pretend we are coming to view the house 😂😂😂
But to be honest I think it won’t be for a while
There is no economic gain to having people visit a household but there is in getting people out to work
But then I’m a cynical cow

Bumpandus · 15/05/2020 23:25

@SpongeCake23 I’m not sure I can last another month never mind another year :(
