Just wanted to know how long it took for the results to come back?

70 hours for colleague early on in testing.
48 hours for another colleague a few weeks later.
28 hours for another last week
22 hours for me also last week

All negative.

bigbluebus · 13/05/2020 11:18

Thank you - hopefully it is at the quicker end now - although reports of tests being sent to USA the other day were a little worrying. Someone DH has had contact with has some symptoms and is being tested today. Risk is minimal but it would be good to know sooner rather than later.

I had my test on Monday 4th and came back on 10th.

cathyandclare · 13/05/2020 11:37

48 hours for me

granhands1 · 13/05/2020 11:42

Tested on 4th, positive result came back on 10th

lovemypussy · 13/05/2020 11:44

Tested yesterday 3pm - results texted today 9.30am

Frazzled2207 · 13/05/2020 11:49

@lovemypussy
That’s good I was under the impression they were all taking weeks

Lifeisabeach09 · 13/05/2020 11:54

Tested Thursday. Results back Sunday.

lovemypussy · 13/05/2020 11:55

@Frazzled2207
Yes I was surprised how quick the results came back.

bigbluebus · 13/05/2020 12:47

Seems very variable. I guess it depends where you are tested then. I wonder if those tested on 4th and results not back until 10th were amongst the batch sent to the USA. I believe the person in question is being tested in Manchester.

Tested on May 3rd. No result as yet. New test kit arrived today, but I'll get the result after our 2 week quarantine is over.

caffeinebuzz · 13/05/2020 12:55

26 hours for me, about 18 for DH both in the last week.

rosiepony · 13/05/2020 12:57

Where are you getting these tests? And are you concerned about flask negatives?

Lougle · 13/05/2020 13:09

DH and DD3 got theirs sent through Amazon from the national testing programme. My second one has just arrived by Amazon, too.

I got mine because I reported a sore throat on the King's symptom tracker app. They're doing research so that they can work out which early symptoms are most likely to indicate Covid-19. I was negative.

Heathcliff27 · 13/05/2020 14:33

What did they say about returning to work after negative test? I ask because I have an employee in 14 day isolation because a family member had symptoms, family member had negative result back today but they werent told about returning to work and i'm not getting any info, i'm in scotland if that makes a difference

SirBale · 13/05/2020 14:47

@granhands1
Interesting that we were both tested on the same day and had positive test on the same day. Do you mind me asking what part of the country you had the test? Hope you are feeling okay?

granhands1 · 13/05/2020 14:50

Hi, I had mine done at the Lee valley leisure centre, did you?
I am almost 100% now, still a bit feeble and tired though

Layladylay234 · 13/05/2020 14:53

@Lougle,is the national testing programme the ones where letters are being sent out to people asking them to take part?

Lougle · 13/05/2020 14:56

If the family member had symptoms and the family member has had a negative test, then the worker can go back to work.

If the worker had symptoms, they must isolate for 7 days, or until they get a negative test, whichever sooner.

Lougle · 13/05/2020 14:57

@Layladylay234 no, I just meant the national testing scheme where you can register for a test kit if you meet the criteria.

elastamum · 13/05/2020 14:58

Had mine at the invitation of the Kings study. Test Centre in Nottingham totally empty on Sunday. Took 48 hours to get a negative result

Layladylay234 · 13/05/2020 14:59

Ah ok. I can see a lot of people on here are receiving letters from the national scheme to be tested and would love to enrol me and my son. Was just wondering if there's any way to apply to be a volunteer as a lot of people don't seem to want their children to do it.

Chocolatear · 13/05/2020 15:12

Tested on 4th May. Results arrived on 10th. Went to the Chessington testing centre. Three of us went, all negative.

SirBale · 13/05/2020 15:31

@granhands1
I had mine at Guildford I do wonder if ones done in the South on that day were the ones sent to the US. I felt really run down an tired last two days but feeling much more normal today and have yet to have any kind of cough at all other than a strange sensation in back of throat early on.
