Why does MN read as though everyone is furloughed?
75% of employees in the UK are still working and have been throughout the Covid-19 crisis.
Most parents are not dealing with the problem of having not enough to do and the worry of a drop in income, but the problems of having more to do than ever, with children home and needing help with schoolwork or needing childcare and supervision if small, whilst still working outside the home or from home.
I don't think children should be rushed back to school and don't think school is childcare, but I am so sick of both MN and other social media perpetuating the myth that "we all" have more time. Nope, most parents at least, do not.
