Just worrying because there's not much out there that is reassuring :(

I'm type 1 diabetic and although I haven't had covid, my consultant told me they aren't seeing an excess amount of type 1 diabetics in hospital with it, so told me to be cautious as I am being, but not to worry!

I hope that helps. I'm not worried xxx

My close friend is Type 1 and currently recovering, she is now out of bed and itching to get out for a walk. SHe's had Covid for over 2 weeks.

Thanks. That's reassuring. Anyone else?

I’ve been searching for positive stories too as my husband is type 1 and poorly controlled. There’s not much info out there. One of the first people to have it in U.K. was type 1 and has told his story on YouTube. I think it might be on the diabetes U.K. website. That was a fairly positive story.
My husband was ill in March and may have had Covid but we don’t know due to lack of testing and it could have been flu.

Thanks @LivingOnAPear. My DH is the diabetic one too. Mild kidney disease. Well controlled at the moment but overweight too. Scary isn't it.

I have a type 1 family member who has recovered from it. I also saw a man with type 1 in the newspaper who caught it in Italy and recovered. I'm type 1 as well, there is a possibility I had it earlier this year but I'm not certain - no cough but temperature, chills, vomiting and feeling very weak.

I think if it really affected type 1s there would be more deaths in younger age groups (thank god there arent) as it affects all ages. But that's just a guess on my part, who knows!
