I hope we see Chris Whitty tonight

For two reasons:

• If anyone can explain it so that it's easily understood he can.

• He has a way of making it very clear what he thinks whilst always remaining perfectly polite. It will be interesting to read between the lines and see what he's thinking about all this.

Don't think there is a press conference tonight, just a "Boris Q And A" from members of the "public".

According to The Guardian live blog, the briefing has been replaced with a Q&A session with questions from the public. Hopefully we'll get some clear scientific advice! 🤞
