Once again the country is victim to Tory factional squabbles

Boris Johnson’s ambivalent address to the nation is the result, once again, of squabbles within his cabinet and party: between those urging caution and avoiding a second peak, and the hawkish right wingers who want a gun-ho ‘get back to work’ message. Nothing else can explain what an utterly indecisive charade that was.

Differences of opinion. But that’s not surprising given the difficulties. There are those who are worried about the tanking economic situation and what that will do to the future wellbeing of many and our ability to pay for the nhs after this! Whatever they do, lots of people will be unhappy. The nation is split too.

The government is representative of the nation who are currently divided between the economy and stopping the spread so it follows that the representatives will also be split. This would be true across any of the parties.
