When can children play with their friends?

Children don't get it as much, they get it mildly, and they hardly seem to spread it. I can't think of a time there's ever been a blanket ban on playing with friends any time in human history. It seems so cruel and sad

Seeing family and friends should have been a big part of this speech.

Where’s the evidence that kids hardly seem to spread it?

Considering potential changes to social distancing or seeing family or friends wasnt even mentioned in the speech, nobody knows. Its still guess work.

It seems economy is the only thing that matters.

My dds were actually crying as they thought they would be able to stop over at my mums soon.

If people were seeing family and friends as well as going to work and some children going to school there would be no social distancing left. It can't all happen at once and it has already been shown that people will go beyond what is officially allowed.

Doesn’t matter what Johnson says. It’s clear that lockdown has come to an end for many people now. There will be so many people taking absolutely zero notice of what he says now anyway that it will soon become irrelevant. Where I live I see it breaking down every day.

The lancer has an article which says children do spread it.

@HalfPastThree that article at best says children appear to not be superspreaders. It says “Evidence is therefore emerging that children could be significantly less likely to become infected than adults“. That’s not very clear and children won’t be able to keep to a 2m distance.

Its a lot to ask a huge percentage of the workforce to go back to work from tomorrow and not even give people a vague timeframe for when they can see their families again. I am not effected as my family live abroad so the prospect of seeing them is still a long way off, but I know my MIL is devastated. She needed something to work towards at least, some light at the end of the tunnel. There wasnt even a mention of it.
