  • hotel break in London - refused refund and said I can reuse the reservation as long as it’s before December this year (no thanks!!)
  • concert in London - said they will reschedule in November
  • theatre tickets in London - still waiting for refund
  • outside concert in August (Michael Ball) - still saying they will go ahead!

Total is £450. I understand they are businesses that need cash but it is still v grating. Anyone else?

A cottage had to change it from a sunny Easter to probably a cold March next year.

We've actually done really well with refunds so far:

EasyJet - took a while but refunded flights cost back to my CC
Booking.com - non refundable apartment cost was refunded before lockdown started
Car hire - again non refundable booking was cancelled and refunded
Airport hotel and parking - no refund but credit on the site. Wasn't for much so didn't bother pushing for it
Theatre tickets - could have had refund but we requested only 50% and donated rest to the theatre (their email mentioned it)
Concert - we've chosen to accept the rearranged date in October for now

Still waiting to hear from Travel Lodge for a refund of teen DD's booking at May half term. It's another non refundable rate so we have to wait and see if they'll cancel it else we may need to rearrange. Was going for a specific reason but she'll be happy to go with a friend at another time instead.

Oh and not heard from a festival dd was due to go to in Cornwall in July yet. Their site still says it's going ahead so we shall see. Luckily only paid the deposit so far - think balance is due in June.

WearyandBleary · 06/05/2020 09:52

Train line were excellent for refunding I must say.

Slightly annoying that concerts in July can be claimed to be going ahead - that’s not going to happen is it?!

Ferry ticket May half term, they are claiming they will be running!

QuimJongUn · 06/05/2020 10:09

Spent £160 on gig tickets last September for a show this May. At the time Ticketmaster's Ts&Cs were that if a show was rescheduled the tickets were good for the new date or you could get a refund. Within days of the lockdown they changed them so if a show was rescheduled, no refund was available. My show has been rescheduled for March next year - when I'll be on holiday.

I know I can attempt to resell the tickets but it's very shoddy of Ticketmaster to change their terms after tickets are bought and paid for, and when none of this is anyone's fault.

I haven't claimed anything, haven't lost anything. Having no social life as late 70s with disabled husband does make life easier.

I have considered asking Sainsbury's for a refund for some items, some horrible meat I had to throw away and two loves of bread with best before as the next day. No space in freezer so that was a waste but I decided that arguing about a few pounds wasn't worth it and I am grateful for deliveries.

£650 is alot, I'd be stressing about that.

reesewithoutaspoon · 06/05/2020 10:17

Book of mormons tickets.initially told would be getting a refund. now rescheduled to next year
holiday to australia. Only had the airbnb refunded up to now. all the flight operators are dragging their heals over refunds.
Flights to ireland. Still waiting for refund 6 weeks later
Total £1400

Justonedayatatime11 · 06/05/2020 10:51

£400 on tickets to see Bublé in July. According to his website it's still going ahead Hmm. And as per a pp, Ticketmaster won't offer refunds!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 06/05/2020 11:21

Nothing. We had hotel rooms booked for June for my cousin's now cancelled wedding; I didn't even contact them to ask for a refund as we booked under their special lower no cancellations rate and felt it would be cheeky fuckery to do so- but they emailed me and said they had changed the status of our booking and we were entitled to cancel and get a refund if we chose. Which I thought was brilliant customer service and will be borne in mind if I ever need to book hotels in the future!

I haven't even asked yet about being refunded for the year 6 residential ds2 will clearly not be going on now... I will have to at some point I suppose.

Charlottejade89 · 06/05/2020 11:42

Flights to Dublin with Ryanair £290 cant get hold of them for a refund (shock)
Holiday to Kefalonia cancelled but only outbound flight cancelled so not sure where we stand with a refund for that £900 paid (not full balance)
Wedding venue are refusing to officially cancel our wedding because they are waiting for gov announcements, and if we want to change it now to secure a date for next year we have to forfeit our deposit and pay another £750 for the privilege.
So almost £2k down

CornishYarg · 06/05/2020 11:56

Eurotunnel Le Shuttle which we booked to travel on in a couple of weeks. The shuttles are still running for essential workers e.g. food transportation, and European residents. But anyone else will just be turned back when they get to France. Le Shuttle say that as it's still technically running they won't refund, despite the fact that most people can't actually travel on it. We just have the option to rearrange it up to a year from date of booking, which is by Jan 2021 for us.

BearSoFair · 06/05/2020 12:33

Tickets for 4 gigs in Berlin (mini festival really) - I can have a voucher. Only a refund if the voucher isn't used by the end of 2021! It won't be used, I was only going to Germany for the gigs but waiting over a year to get £150 back which would really be more useful now, isn't ideal!

Littlemissdaredevil · 06/05/2020 13:27

Was due to have my carpet fitted to my empty unoccupied house just after lockdown.m (I hadn’t moved in yet) Carpetright didn’t tell us delivery was cancelled and when I contacted the them they still refused to deliver to an empty house.

Home delivery is permitted by the government restrictions. It’s also permitted by the government to people to work when there work cannot next done from home.

I’ve now had to move in and I’m living in a house with no carpet at all (just bare floors) with a 2 year old and I will shortly have a newborn. They won’t give my money back either!

Mirrorxx · 06/05/2020 13:28

Just had a partial refund for hotels booked for our easter holiday. Airline only want to give vouchers and are refusing to discuss anything else.
Still waiting for rest of hotel refunds which is approx 2000 plus the flights

Itsjustmee · 06/05/2020 18:31
