Does anyone know why the government food package would stop for vulnerable person?

A vulnerable person in is is entitled to these as shielding and living alone. They have received 3 boxes I think but nothing this week. Does anyone know why that may be?

Sounds like an error or a delay with their volunteers. They should obviously call up and find out rather than posting on mumsnet .

They may well have done that if it was possible for them but thanks for your insight @mrex.

Why isn't it possible to contact the local council to ask about the boxes?

If they are able to contact yourself they are able to contact the council, or get you to do so on their behalf.

Yes I will be doing it on their behalf. I just wondered if anyone knew if they had stopped them or if there was a reason maybe some people won’t be getting one anymore, before I lumber myself with another job on the ‘to do’ list.

Stopped here as well, contacted the council, they don't know why either, but they sorted out alternative supplies for the week, and as far as they know the government parcels should be back to normal later this week.

How strange. I’ve taken some food over so they’ll be ok for now. Will try and ring tomorrow and see what they say but hoping they’ll be a late delivery and I can cross it off my list.

We had a few mis-delivered this week in our village. The community pages sorted them out and got them to where they needed to be. Sadly the drivers tend to just deliver them to the doorstep and disappear, so I think this can happen quite easily.

Wednesday is the usual delivery day round here, they normally come in the mornings, nothing so far, looks like they can't be relied on, another phone call to council coming up.

Can’t they get deliveries and buy whatever they’d prefer to eat? I thought all supermarkets had their priority schemes working now

Supermarket deliveries need people to have Internet access, and they have a minimum order of £40 usually, not everybody can spend that at once.

Perhaps, it was just meant to be three boxes to give people time to sort something out in the way of deliveries, friends/neighbours shopping for them. Unfortunately, the government are going to have to reduce their spending quickly either way.

I think they may stop if you order from a supermarket ie demonstrate that you can get supplies and do t need them?

It could’ve some of those reasons but none have been mentioned to her. She had an email today to say she is priority for a food delivery, so perhaps that is why? Hopefully she’ll be able to figure it out and get stuff delivered to her which would be preferable.

Sadly some are being stolen too

Did you find out op? Mine looks like it was stopped as well, it didn’t come last week now nothing again today. Don’t even have a number to call.

We have just started getting one, last week! It seems a bit random. I'm not sure we need it really and thinking of maybe donating some of it the food bank
