Is anyone letting their cleaners come back and work?

Apologies if this has been done recently.

I am still paying my cleaners but they haven't been now for I think 7 weeks and am starting to wonder two things:

  • can they actually come back if I provide all cleaning stuff, we socially distance and obviously no one is symptomatic
  • if not, how long are people thinking of keeping paying? I have a direct debit to my cleaner's bank account so assume it all goes through her books and therefore she should be entitled to some help by now from the govt - but not sure on this point.

The money in itself isn't a massive issue although some of my family are now beginning to struggle and I would rather be giving them the money to be honest much as I like my cleaner.

thanks!

Mine are - it's an agency, but usually the same two women every week.

They asked to return. They wear masks and gloves and we stay at least 2 metres away. We have a biggish house, so we just make sure they don't clean the room we're working in (then rotate) or go into the garden.

We check in on the day if anyone has symptoms.

Thank you!

I sort of wish my cleaner would get in touch.

Mine never stopped

Yeah, my cleaner's been coming all the way through. Never saw any reason to stop. I leave the house to go for a run while she is here so no social contact

I'm not having mine back for now, she has several other clients and I'm not mixing households with several others via my cleaner.

I'm high risk so strict social distancing. I'll go back to work as soon as I'm allowed where I'm more in control but I've discussed it with dh and he's in agreement.

I'd be happy for my cleaner to come back if she was to wear a mask, by nature her hands will be clean anyway. My biggest wonder is whether the virus would stick on her socks and clothing (I. E her trousers when she goes on her knees) and transfer from other houses? I have a child who plays on the floor so it's a genuine concern.
