Having one or more inflamed toes, that aren't chilblains.

It's a real thing. A nurse friend was telling me about it.

KaptenKrusty · 03/05/2020 21:03

I had this back in early March and it lasted about a month - at one point I thought I had no circulation in my feet the toes were all blue !! I figured it was just chillblains though!

Littlebendytoe · 03/05/2020 21:07

My son had several affected toes mid March. I spent ages googling trying to decipher what they might be and chillblains didn't fit (not cold enough!) One eventually blistered and I thought perhaps they were insect bites as he had a mosquito bite in his ankle once that blistered. But now I'm wondering about Covid Toe..... He had a mild, intermittent cough at the time but no other symptoms. He's 12.

Singinginshower · 03/05/2020 21:17

Yep, DD had it, or rather what looked like it

WeWantSweet · 03/05/2020 21:22

Thanks for replies. If he's had it, I've had no symptoms, that I'm aware of at least!

Dd had them in March, sure it was chilblains but again too warm. No other symptoms though.

Humberbear · 03/05/2020 21:47

I've had it for 3 weeks, starting to look a bit better. Doctor didn't have a clue and gave me 2 lots of antibiotics, and a fungal cream. None had any effect. Doctor kept telling me what it wasn't. Also had a hive like rash on my body that appeared 8 days after my toes started.

whenwillthemadnessend · 03/05/2020 21:53

Yes my 12-year-old son had it around the same time late March he had a really bad migraine as well and looked rough no other symptoms though he still has the red mark but it is definitely healing, around the same time I had transient hives for about three days but I didn't think a lot of it because it's common for me to get hives but now I have my suspicions.

There's an image on BBC news of Covid toes now.

I look at the news feeling like a visitor from a distant planet these days - it just gets weirder!

Jayfee · 03/05/2020 21:56

I saw it online as a covid symptom but with the warning don't self diagnose..so perhaps call 111??

DamnYankee · 03/05/2020 22:00

When I first saw the term "Covid Toes," I thought people were talking about how their pedicures were rapidly devolving...

OhMargo · 03/05/2020 22:01

Covid eyes and body next,

We are so bored lol.

BelfryBat · 03/05/2020 22:02

I think it's something kids get mostly, though?

Runkle · 03/05/2020 22:40

Hi OP, we've moved this thread over to our Coronavirus topic now.

callmeadoctor · 03/05/2020 23:10

FFS!!!!! are you not worried about turning into hypochondriacs?

whenwillthemadnessend · 04/05/2020 08:41

Call me a doctor. This is a genuine symptom in younger people. Why are we hypochondriacs??

It's on many news sites

TJH130 · 04/05/2020 09:39

It isnt just Covid toes though its covid extremities.
