I haven't felt well for 24 hours. Nausea, very sore heavy chest and a cough (worse when i was talking this morning but ive shut myself away and have no one to talk to now). Also a horrible headache.

I have young children so have shut myself in my bedroom whilst my husband has the kids. I already miss them.

My chest feels so sore and i am aware of my breathing. I have a mild fever (im on immunosuppresants for Crohn's and they often mask a fever). The thing is i haven't been out socially for 9 weeks and my husband and kids haven't either. Im vulnerable so we have stayed home. We do have dogs so have walked them once a day but we live rurally and see no one. I don't walk anywhere i need to touch a gate or stile.

We get a sainsbury's order once a week. They leave the bags on the doorstep and then i get the bags. I remove outer packaging and isolate the bags for a week or so. I haven't washed the last 2 orders though as i was feeling safe as I am washing my hands all the time. Have I caught it from my sainsbury's delivery?
My 3 year old went to the GP's last Tuesday for his pre school vacs (after alot of pressure from the GP telling me he needed it). My husband had a mask and the nurse was in PPE and there was no one else in the surgery. Husband said it felt very safe.

Its not flu, ive had that a couple of times and doesnt feel like that. At that moment its a sore chest, cough and headache.

Is there anything else going round or does it sound like covid 19?

I called 111 and they said i could get a test so i booked one but its for tomorrow night at 5pm and 81 miles away.

Half of me feels panicked and half feels like i will inevitably get it and might as well get it over with.

I miss my kids so much and its only been a few hours.

I just cant believe I could have caught it when i have been so so careful and my whole family has to.

Hope you are ok?

Hi, Ive name changed but still me.

Still no results so still sat in my room. Going dolally with boredom. They said 3 days for results so thats from 12 lunch time today. I really hoped i would get the result earlier as it wasnt busy. Im worried they have lost my results or got my contact details wrong or something.

My daughters very upset she cant see me poor thing, my son too.

My sternum still really hurts but no fever. I still have a bit of a cough. I dont think its covid but what a waste of time if it isnt. I have slightly more understanding of those who say they feel fine so go about their business and if my husband wasn't around i would have looked after the kids. Although i wouldn't have gone out. I just don't feel i've been sick enough to have covid but chest is still tight so im scared it is covid and ill be really sick next week. Come on results, hurry up please!

I hope you are ok OP so bizarre people getting it when they have been shielded for so long. Just goes to show how bad it is though if people's only contact with the outside world is delivered shopping and mail and still catching it despite taking precautions. I hope you hear from them soon to confirm or deny so at least you know. I would certainly rule out you catching it from the Gp via you sons visit.. seems very fast to me x

Ive just chased up as ive had no result yet and its been over 4 days. The wait time is 7-10 days!! FFS. Im sat in my room and havent seen my kids since saturday. Im going dolally and it probably isnt covid anyway. My chest is sore still but i feel Ok and look a better colour. official guidance is that yo can go out 7 days after you had first smptoms as long as you dont have a fever. 7 days is tomorrow afternoon. I dont want to go out i just want to go down and see my kids. Can I do that?

Porcupineinwaiting · 08/05/2020 18:59

@bloodyc that's the guidance. I waited 14 days but I was way sicker than you and my kids were older. Are yours old enough to understand no kisses on the face and backwards hugs?

bloodyc · 08/05/2020 20:04

Porcupine how did you manage 14 days? I'm struggling after 5-6 days.
I dont think it was covid as I'm high risk so would have been sicker. But theres a chance it was so Ill do the 7 days. I'll be careful with the kids but they are 7 and 3 so young but I'll try to limit affection. I think they have to isolate for another 7 days longer than me. We havent been anywhere for 8 weeks but poor dogs havent been walked since Saturday so I'm looking forward to taking them out. Poor things. Husband didnt want to go out incase I have covid. We live in a rural.area so I wont see anyone but we didnt want to risk it.

Porcupineinwaiting · 08/05/2020 21:51

@bloodyc it was tough mentally, partly because I felt so ill. But, on the other hand, because I was so ill (and unlike you it became obvious it was COVID a few days in) I didn't want to be anywhere except bed and I was terrified of passing it on to them (which I already had as it turned out but they had v mild cases). But it was so good when I could come out.

bloodyc · 08/05/2020 22:18

Yes it is scary and part of me wants to stay here until result. But my daughter has anxiety and this is making her worse and I will have done the 7 days since symptoms started by tomorrow lunch. And I feel fine. I have felt better since yesterday and my skin colour is more normal. I've promised daughter I will be out tomorrow lunch time. I cant wait but I'm scared too. Hopefully the result will come in the morning so I can relax. Thanks for reply.

Hi OP, hope you are having a nice day with your family, waiting with interest to see if you did indeed have it.

bloodyc · 30/05/2020 18:43

Hi, apologies for delay. Thought i would update thread. My results came back negative. It took a week for the results. Im still unsure as my lungs still feel sore even now which is weeks later. I was disappointed at first but of course I wanted it to be covid 19 as i got better quickly! I can only think it was from my sons live MMR vaccine as i have been isolating in the house with all the family. The vast majority of tests are negative so there must be a lot of bugs going round that create similar symptoms.

Im still washing my sainsbury's deliveries and still locked down. Feel so jealous seeing other people getting back to normal. Thanks all for your support when i was sick and a bit scared!
