Husband isolating after taking annual leave

My husband is on a week's annual leave as we had a holiday booked from last year, but it's been cancelled so he just took the week off anyway. He's a key worker. Yesterday me and my child developed a dry cough it's really irritating.
I phoned NHS who advised for us to self isolate for 7 days and husband for 14.
I'm worried his boss will think he's taking the p#@@ because 7 days is annual leave and 7 days will be isolation.
6 weeks ago he had 2 weeks isolation also because our child had tonsillitis, but we were still told to stay at home and his boss wasn't happy about that. Even though it was doctors advice I felt his boss was annoyed about that.
But I feel like what can we do except follow the rules? I'm worried his boss will sack him or something. I'm worried I might have corona virus too.
