Covid and skin conditions

I was just wondering if anyone who gets eczema or any other skin flare ups has had covid mildly?
Just before Xmas I developed eczema type patches (never had them before). Yesterday my hair ticked my chin...now I have a white slight raised hives like bump which is mildly itchy. I am thinking my immune system is over reacting.. isn't that what eczema is? Obvs, I'm thinking if I have a bit of an over sensitive immune system will I get bad Covid if i catch it 😕 ....so am interested to hear if anyone with these type of conditions has had it. Thanks

There is absolutely no evidence that people with allergies are at any greater risk than a normally healthy person, unless they have a severe respiratory reaction (like asthma). And even then it is a vulnerability, not a cause for shielding unless advised. An over sensitive immune system isn't the same thing as a compromised immune system, and it is the latter that causes the greater risk. Otherwise everyone with hay fever would be isolating!

There's some information here on contact eczema and Covid-19. It's from the USA, but it seems to best cover a number of your worries.

Thank you for taking time to post Moondust, that's reassuring. I read some info on line about covid patients developing rashes/hives which also put the wind up me... though I know my chin bump was instantly triggered by my hair Confused. Thank you

I bought a new necklace and after a week I got a rash. It was expensive piece of jewellery and supposed not to have nickel. Now I have rash on my neck and itchy scalp still after a week stopping wearing any jewellery. I think it's a bit of over reaction I have.

@kingis...oh, what a shame! Especially if it was expensive. Aren't our bodies strange! As I said, I've had a massive over reaction to my hair tickling my chin....no where else has any hives! Never happened before!!
