Where are all the death stories now?

During this crisis, I have been reading a variety of newspaper websites. Up until this week, lots of sites have had article after article about people who have died, with very emotive stories where often the victim is young and/or has no underlying condition and/or is a parent and/or works for the NHS.

But until the last few days, this seems to have changed . I've looked at the Mail today, and there is nothing on its whole page apart about any victim apart from a small article about a Filipino health care worker, significantly towards the bottom of the page. A few weeks ago, their home page was full of articles and pictures of poor victims

Why the change, and why now? Lots of people are still dying.

Perhaps MSM are seeing how many will die from lockdown and decided to pull back on the covid stories.

The BBC are still reporting:

Because the media portray what they are told to portray in many cases. We are fed what the government want us to hear. Stay inside= scary story after scary story. Young People flouting the rules in sunny weather = stories about young people with no health conditions suddenly dying.
When the government want us to leave our houses and return to work (when they can’t pay anyone anymore and need to get people back for the economy) it will be stories about how people have recovered, how the death rate is lower than we thought, how there is plenty of hospital space etc etc. It’s what they want you to know and most people are like sheep and lap it up

I agree with @Sometimenever100, the media choose what shit to feed us. The deaths are still there, there are families loosing loved ones every day, with and without underlying health conditions. It’s all about the government agenda.

A lot of people on SM have been demanding that the negativity stops and they only want positive stories like people recovering/leaving hospital. With Colonel Moore having had his 100th birthday, I can't help but wonder what the new media focus will be

I've noticed this too. I think it's because we're heading towards the next review point, there is good news in that we're through the peak and now the press are focussing on the lockdown being lifted.

This.

I haven't noticed this. Today, I have seen lots of articles about DCs being hospitalised and about care home deaths and NHS staff deaths.

Because the mainstream media have very short attention spans (and think we do too)?
