And I was offered
9.15
10
10.45
11

And it continued like this until the end of the day as indeed any other day this week.
This is a busy urban surgery usually very busy and I can’t get a blood test usually for 5 plus days.

I've just been told the same - I can turn up to the hospital for a blood test and there will be noone there except me - I'll be able to walk in and out.

Which is concerning actually - it means people are not having the blood tests they require.

I went to a&e on Saturday with a burn. Normal waiting times at that particular hospital could be 12+ hours at the weekend. I was in and out in an hour and they said they were busier than they had been

Bringringbring12 · 28/04/2020 12:09

I was also told that turn around for results is much quicker than normal

That's because we are only doing urgent bloods. Routine ones for bp clinics have been postponed for a few months.

They're only doing urgent ones at my surgery, so as an example my thyroid meds have been upped after some bloods at the hospital before lockdown showed that my levels are off. I'd normally be tested again to make sure the dosage is correct, but it's got to wait until they're resuming normal testing so for the time being we're working on whether symptoms have gone and I'll be able to book the bloods "after coronavirus".

Mine wasn’t urgent
Routine thyroid check

I normally get my thyroid bloods done at a walk in hospital clinic and only have to wait for five minutes - ten if they’re really busy. DC go to paediatric phlebotomist clinic and walk straight in. But I suppose it’s more time consuming for GP nurses to do it rather than dedicated staff, which is why you’re normally having to wait.

I cannot get my B12 injection. My surgery has cancelled them all, said we can do withoutHmm

FascinatingCarrot · 28/04/2020 12:43
