I finally got a Tesco slot!!!

I'm so relieved!!!!!

It's for my mum who lives over an hour from me and is vulnerable but not shielding. It's a whole month since I managed to get the last slot, and I'd almost given up hope of getting another. She's got local volunteers getting her weekly basics, but she was running low on main meal items, plus stuff she was too embarrassed to ask strangers to pick up for her.

Of course if I'd had it I would have taken some things over for her. But I'm NHS frontline working lots, and when I'm not working I'm with the DCs so DH can catch up on work he can't do when he's looking after them.

I just can't believe it took me this long to get a slot, and that I'm so happy that we've finally managed it!

I got one for the first time today too. I was so pleased

Have you rung up Tesco? They can add customers onto their vulnerable list who have a genuine need

It takes about 2 days from the phone call, you can book one slot a week which is a 6 hour time window but they text on the day with a 1 hour window

I think you just have to keep looking as they come up at various times throughout the day.

I'm classed as vulnerable (so not on their list for slots) and my parents are shielding so I'm shopping for them too and most weeks I've been able to get a click and collect. It's such a relief when you finally find one!

Here's the details, they asked us 4 questions and then if they agreed you need help they'll add you to their list

It's weird, I've been doing online shopping for a vulnerable friend. Got him a slot 4 weeks ago and did a huge shop, he has someone local who can get him a loaf and milk etc for the corner shop. I've been trying ever since to get another slot. Managed to get one for 30th May which I've booked but it's no good right now, that would be 8 weeks between shops. DH was just going to do a big shop for him and drive it 70 miles to him as we had no other option. I randomly looked yesterday at about 4am (feeding the baby) and got a slot for Tuesday! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how slots appear!

@Florencenotflo I've been looking at different times of the day for weeks, and finally had success at 7.45am

The past couple of days there seems to be a lot of slots. Like yesterday I could have booked for Monday. We HAD a delivery tonight and the driver said hed only got 3 drops....

I looked just now and there are slots for the 20th -,22 May

@BurnIt it will depend on where you live. I can only see slots now up until 16th May, and there are none available between now and then, so who knows when I'll be able to get another one

I got a Sainsbury's slot m. I was really surprised as I was just looking at the app to see if they had any available and there were loads!
