Advice on picking up ASDA click and collect for shielding MIL

Hi all, MIL is shielding and living with a granddaughter who is isolating as well ( not sick, just staying in to keep MIL safe). DGD has managed to set up an Asda account and order a click and collect order for pickup on Monday. I get groceries for MIL when I go out so I’m happy to collect it, but I’m not sure if I will be able to without I.D.. address etc for her house? Can anyone advise if they will let me collect it?

@WeeMadArthur my local store has always just requested the order number, so you might be okay.

We did click&collect in Sainsbury's. Dh who has different last name mine picked up. He just said my last name and got the food. I had forwarded the confirmation email to him in case he needs to prove something but that wasn't needed.

I just give my name at Asda. I have not been asked for ID

That’s reassuring, I’ll get DGD to forward me the order email, thanks

Our asda never asks for Id, just confirms the name. I have to say after years of trudging round a supermarket its like ive seen the light with click and collect! , massive queue at Adsa this morning yet we were in and out in a few minutes, definitely not going back to actual supermarket shopping ever again 😄

Depends on the store - some C&C you collect from lockers outside the shop eg Lower Earley. You scan the barcode on the confirmation email and it tells you which lockers to open in which order as different lockers will contain fresh, frozen or grocery so you no longer go into the store, you just stop the car outside the lockers although you will have to touch a screen that others will have touched.

DH always picks up our order, although it’s in my (different) name. He’s never needed ID, just the order number (he logs in to the app on my account to let them know he’s there)

I just gave my name, not even an order number.
