Elderly relative in care home tested positive

He is in his 90s. He is on my husband's side of the family and my fil is very stressed about it and has already started thinking about funerals. Just seems so sad to assume he will probably die.

Didn't want to read and run OP. My DF is in a care home. One of his friends got admitted about a week ago with CV, she's now back in the home but isolated in her room for at least a week. So not an inevitable conclusion that all the elderly will pass away. x

That's what I'm hoping. He has so far refused hospital but his cough is mild at the moment.

Assuming his going to die is really harsh, don’t write him off just yet. Being old does not automatically mean death from this virus.

It’s just a case of waiting to see unfortunately but there is every chance he will be ok

It’s good that they came and we’re able to test him, hopefully he will get the treatment he needs.

@Lovingmylife his cough may well be a totally unrelated chest infection. Keep positive if you can x DF is 70 but his bestie is 94, been in his room for a bit but he's back out now. The oldies are pretty tough, certainly in my Dad's home they'd all rather go out with a G&T on the patio than being socially isolated. They are one big family. I've waved at him out of his bedroom window while we've chatted on the phone. It broke my heart leaving.

Thanks Everyone. It's looking increasingly likely he will pass away.. my fil had a call to say that his pain relief may well be end of life care soon.
