What are the shops in the morning?

Generally, are supermarket queues bad at around 8-9am?

I am thinking of going tomorrow - I've been going weekly at around 11am and the shops have been very busy so wonder if it is quieter if I go when shops open. I don't want to go too late as things may be out of stock by the late afternoon / evening.

That's the time many stores are reserved for nhs staff and other key workers so check. My local farm shop says they are always busy first thing. I've been going about 3PM snd seems quiet then but it just might be my area.

Depends where you are OP, but I shop for elderly parents, and find that
Lidl - brilliant early on - ours opens at 8 and only about 6 people in the queue - nice in the store, lots of everything.
The Tesco which is less than a quarter of a mile away (and I walk past on the way to Lidl) - queuing round the block. I have walked past the queue, walked onto Lidl, got my shopping, and the same people are still in Tesco's queue - perhaps because it has a pharmacy/tobacco - whatever.
Co Op - again - no queue early in morning, but stock a bit hit and miss.

They are the three that I go to on a rotation, every few days to get my parents (and ours) stuff.
Not London, but big city.

I go to tesco at 6am - check times, some of the big ones open early - and it's quiet then if you can go at that time.
The shelves have been stocked reasonably well too.

The earlier you go the busier the shops are. I tend to go late on at night around 9 PM just before closing and the shops are dead but there are still lots on the shelves.
