Onset of COVID symptoms

Sorry If this has been done to death but I was struggling to find a thread that was relevant. For those who have had or has suspected COVID, how did your symptoms come on? In the past 4 hours I’ve been very achey and then in the past hour my temp has gone up to 38.5 and I’m very tired and also have a sore throat. Is this just a throat infection?

Frankly, it could be Covid. The idea that you have to present with a continuous cough and high temperature is misleading and no longer supported by data coming from new cases.

Yes, that sounds like it! Those were my husband's exact symptoms and we are a family that's tested positive.

CoughKeepsOnComing · 21/04/2020 17:39

Oh..he did also have a cough.

Well we had ‘suspected’ only in our family, but DD who went first had what you’d call the more atypical symptoms: sudden onset of diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness and metallic taste in her mouth. DP & DS had tight chests & the slightest of coughs (which could equally have been hayfever/pollution). I suffer from ‘London throat’ all the feckin time (apart from now when there’s no traffic!) but what I thought was (live) rabbit fur allergy or tree pollen allergy developed slowly over 2 weeks into a stronger cough, shortness of breath, dizziness and just feeling really, really shit for a week or so. At no point did any of us have a temperature however, so with the lack of a test I can’t say for certain we had it, but my hunch is that at least DD & I were affected.

That said, one report of Covid-positive tests done in China indicated that some of those who had it only had a stomach upset, no other symptom. Others just lose their sense of smell..

I think we have had it here, and mine started like this: hot, v tired, sore throat and headache. Cough, but marginal for us. Hope you feel better soon.

Could well be. Hope you're better soon Flowers

3 in this family with suspected, started differently for each of us.

Ds had a dry cough, temp and drowsiness.
I had full body aches and now have an awful cough and slight temp too.
DD2 has a temp - no other symptoms yet.

Ds has now recovered, I'm on day 4, Dd2 day 1.
