What's the deal with the Virgin group?

Have seen Richard Branson getting a battering in the press for wanting a government hand out to help Virgin Atlantic out. However, on his daughter Holly's Instagram page there are lots of comments from Virgin employees who seem to love and worship him.

Is Branson (and the brand) as bad as the press are making out. The statement he released is very keen to point out how much the Virgin business are putting back into society.

I know a couple of Virgin Atlantic employees and they are very supportive of him. Obviously they don't want to lose their jobs but I think he treats his staff well. Just a shame he doesn't pay any corporation tax!

I know a lot of people are supportive of SRB as a personality, but that doesn't change anything in the VS and Virgin Group balance sheet/annual accounts over the last few years and that's what the accountants/HMG will have been looking at..

Is the group think that it's OK to bail VS out because SRB is perceived as "a good" chap", "national icon" etc, whereas the airlines which ( up until now) have been more profitable recently don't deserve a penny because their bosses are perceived as nasty bits of work?

He shouldn't be allowed a penny of uk money as his business is not a uk company.
I'm hoping we tell him where to shove his application.
