Are state schools doing virtual lessons?

My dds attend a state secondary school (Years 8 and 12). School say they have considered running virtual lessons but have decided against it for various reasons such as not all pupils having access to the right equipment and safeguarding issues.

My dds are being set work sent via email which they have been getting on with as best they can.

I've heard of private schools offering virtual lessons, are any state schools offering similar?

The dds school has a chrome book scheme, so every child in the school has one.

Work is being set through google classroom at the time they would normally have that lesson. Some of it is just set work and some are live classes. So far it’s worked pretty well.

Wow all very different here we have a workbook with answers and a couple of website from ds state primary no ability to submit work and no ability to contact the teacher. I winder if this thread explains why I seem more worried about the impact of school closures than the average person on mumsnetters. In reality if they don’t go back until September my son will miss a terms worth of education!
