Allergic to paracetamol. What can I take if I get it

Severely allergic to paracetamol and most other over the counter painkillers. Am wondering if there is anything else recommended if I get Covid 19. Seen various websites promoting vitamin D and C but don't want to be taken in by snake oil sites! Only painkiller I can take is Celebrex. Can't take aspirin, ibuprofen, codeine etc'.

What would you take if you got the flu in general ir a really bad cold?

HappyHammy · 18/04/2020 21:07

Could you get Celebrex on prescription if you needed it for pain or are you thinking of something for a temperature.

Maraki · 18/04/2020 21:13

Hi, I’m a pharmacist. Celebrex will take the temperature down if you are unlucky enough to catch covid-19. Make sure you have a supply at home as you can’t take anything else as you say.

Thanks all. Didn't know Celebrex would take temperature down so that is really reassuring. If I get a cold I would use echinacea to shorten the length of time I have it and am afraid it's just steaming and strepsils. Will keep well stocked up with Celebrex.

I guess that's your answer then. Hope you won't need it!
