Call for resignation of Communities Secretary

This really hurts me. My parents live on the other side of the country as do his parents. But THEY USE THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT AVAILABLE!!! I haven't seen them since January. He hasn't even apologised! Does that mean I can drive 4 hours to go and see them with the excuse of giving them medication?!?!?!

Chief medic in Scotland eventually resigned he needs to as well.

If he did just drive to give his parents medicine then that wouldn't have been that noteworthy, it was the whole de-camp to second home situation, with various bullshitting about herefordshire beding his main home (his kids go to shcool in London and his wife has job in London).

Look at the Scottish CMO - she was (rightly) shamed and had to resign over her similar behaviour, but she was an offical - god forbid a politican ever has to resign Hmm

He just said we all can do it too.

Concerned12345 · 18/04/2020 16:42

It's s bloody wrong makes my blood boil!!!!!!

Oh dear, I've been quite impressed by him but unlikely he can survive this.

I'm sure he had his reasons to take such a risk (to his career) but why on earth wouldn't he have seen this coming?

He did nothing wrong

Concerned12345 · 18/04/2020 16:46

He needs to be thoroughly ripped apart in any future enquiry if he doesn't resign.

OP posts:
Rosehip10 · 18/04/2020 16:47

This "came out" days ago - he won't be resigning, mores the pity.

Makeitgoaway · 18/04/2020 16:47

Actually, I've commented based on what OP said but I can't find the facts?

Rosehip10 · 18/04/2020 16:50

@Surroundedbyeediotics Travelling to second/holiday homes is not allowed - especially as he would be going back to work in London.

It came out in today's presser about his kids going to shcool in London and his wife working in London, hence how does he consider herefordshire his main residence - notice he didn't give that journalist a follow up!

SistemaAddict · 18/04/2020 17:02

He didn't really answer the question either.

1forsorrow · 18/04/2020 17:08

No he didn't answer the question. He isn't alone though is he, it is definitely one rule for them and another for us.

TJH130 · 18/04/2020 17:13

If everyone in the current Government had quit for breaking the rules, we probably wouldn't have many left. Certainly Boris and Gove would be gone. spreading it further most of the Royal Family would need to step aside as well.

Concerned12345 · 18/04/2020 17:32

@TJH130 the government only listen when there's enough pressure.

OP posts:
mrshoho · 18/04/2020 17:38

He didn't answer the question and conveniently didn't go back to the journalist to ask if she wanted to reply back. The same story again do as I say not as I do. The government were quick to adminishe people heading from London to Cornwall and Norfolj but was fine for his family to leave their London home quick as you like and head off to their country home. And does he really think it's acceptable to call this his main family home? His children are at schools in London' his wife works in London and so does he.
