Parents/carers are you happy with support from your work?

I feel as if the recognition that parenting is a full time job is not there at all. My workplace feels very backward in that respect, but I'm surprised as they are saying all the right things 'we support parents working flexibly in these times' but actions suggest otherwise. I.e I've asked to do my job in 6 hours each day instead of 7 and they are umming and ahhing and talking about cutting my pay. My husband is also working and I have a 2.5 year old who wants my attention all the time. I would love to be furloughed. Anyone else finding it hard?

Yep. We've been asked to take 50% of our leave before the end of June so I've asked if I can shorten my days using holiday. No response yet. The outcome is the same either way so not sure why they're dithering!

Little acknowledgement that the needs of an 11 year old (colleagues son) and a three year old (my son) are very different.

But, I still have a job and I'm still being paid, so...
