NHS and wearing face masks, anyone had any issues?

DH is NHS, he was on leave last week but this week has mainly been dealing with covid patients and has therefore been wearing a mask.

He now has painful sores at the sides of his mouth, and the skin is cracked and sore, he has mouth ulcers, feels run down and wheezy.

We all had covid a month ago so don't think it's that, also, no temperature or cough.

I think he is allergic to the mask - he does have allergies so not completely unlikely. Has anyone else experienced this?

I guess the only way to know is to see if it gets better over the weekend and then worse again next week.
