News are constantly staying it’s too soon to discuss the lockdown being lifted.

Is it going to be before summer?

After the early May bank holiday - but not "lifted". It will start to be "eased".

Goodness knows when it will be lifted altogether if the powers that be have decided we have to wait for a vaccine. It could be a long wait, if so.

Lockdown restrictions are going to be different by the summer holidays. There’ll still be some degree of lockdown, but it may be lifted a bit - or lifted in some areas, or for some age groups, or for some industries. We just don’t know.

No one knows because no one has a crystal ball, not even the government can answer that question.

The lifting of restrictions is something that will come about when the people holding the power decide that the level of infection is sufficiently low to risk a second wave of infections or that the economy cannot bear a state of lockdown any longer.

Lockdown is not going to make the virus go away and waiting for a vaccine before we get back to normality isn't practical; we don't, at this stage, even know if a vaccine is possible.
