I'm very impressed with her, Her daily briefings are clear and she handles them very well.

What do you think?

I don't like her or her politics, but I do think she has handled the current situation better than any alternative option, and better than many other leaders.

Her party's single aim is independence, and their lack of care or attention to anything else is destroying the country, but other than that she's not all bad I guess.

Interested to see what comes of her now Wee Eck has been cleared.

tenlittlecygnets · 15/04/2020 14:24

@MissMarks, your point was that Sturgeon is 'very competent'. The stats don't bear that out. Just because you think NI is doing badly does not mean that Sturgeon is doing better or that Scotland is 'streets ahead' of anywhere, sadly.

paniquer · 15/04/2020 14:27

There's no such place as given. It's Govan and she is not their MSP. She is however for Govanhill.

paniquer · 15/04/2020 14:28

*goven

MissMarks · 15/04/2020 14:36

My point was she is preferable to Michelle ONeill and Arlene Foster.

AdoptedBumpkin · 15/04/2020 14:41

I find her more impressive than Boris. She seems more honest about CV.

Makeitgoaway · 15/04/2020 14:41

I think if it had been any less of a crisis she wouldn't have survived the CMO, after saying she had to stay because NS needed her. If we weren't in a climate where the game of politics seems distasteful the knives would have been out and she'd have had to go.

midnightstar66 · 15/04/2020 14:43

I've always liked her, most people I know vote snp for the long term goal and aren't actually a fan but I think she is amazing band a huge role model for young girls (I have 2 so it's something I think about) She's handled it better and comes across better than most and the small touches like doing question time with kids really helps make her seem human.

midnightstar66 · 15/04/2020 14:46

I also don't think she gets shorty when challenged. She admits she doesn't know and says so unlike most. It's pointless to keep asking a question she's already said she can't answer

Cacaca · 15/04/2020 14:51

Normally I’m the first person to slate her and everything her party stands for. However she is coming across incredibly well. Still never ever going to vote snp.

Figmentofmyimagination · 15/04/2020 14:54

She’s coming across very well. Much better than the equivalents in Westminster. We’d have been so much better off with Ruth Davidson running the Westminster Conservative party, sigh.

Potterspotter · 15/04/2020 16:28

And here’s the u turn on Scottish business support:

www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/health/coronavirus/scottish-government-u-turn-business-support-firms-scotland-2538858

I’m sure that created a lot of anxiety before the change for Scottish business, credible as NS appears

PineappleDanish · 15/04/2020 16:31

You're welcome to her.

She is hiding her nasty nationalist tendencies at the moment but they're not far under the surface. She;ll be back screeching like a harpie about "westmonster" and planning Indyref2 in no time.

Don't be fooled.

Peppafrig · 15/04/2020 16:34

Don't like her The Snp and everything they stand for. But I do think she has been good during this crisis . Except sticking up for the chief medical officer. . She looked liked a little girl lost when Piers ripped her a new one on Tv. Still wouldn't vote for SNP ever though .

Potterspotter · 15/04/2020 16:46

The snp have had more time to concentrate on the message and not the content though haven’t they because the UK govt was doing the heavy lifting on that in London.

The SNP’s nhs record in govt in Scotland otoh...

I’m not a fan, since we moved here we’ve seen a place we love get worse and worse.

Being a competent deliverer of policies should be a minimum political bar, amazing it isn’t given Boris and Trump.

Gingerkittykat · 15/04/2020 17:03

It's hard to have much faith in any woman (or man) who doesn't know what a woman is

Fuck off, I'm GC but this is no time to be banging on about it.

I'm impressed by Nicola Sturgeon right now, I think she is a great leader who is very focused on protecting the Scottish population.

I do wonder if this will make independence less likely though in the long term.
