Been under lockdown for a month. Haven’t left the house except to sunbathe in the back garden or retrieve bags of groceries that Tesco left on the front doorstep. So how the hell am I having flu symptoms like sore throat and sneezing?!

I get a sore throat with hayfever, fingers crossed it just hayfever

OxanaVorontsova · 17/04/2020 20:05

Sore throat and sneezing isn't flu! Hayfever far more likely, pollen counts are high this year.

Stellamboscha · 17/04/2020 20:07

Same here -heavy cold despite no contact with anyone!
My grandma got hay fever for the first time in her 40s, so wondering if it is that...?

Flu symptoms are a very high fever, whole body aches, shivering and feeling like you are actually about to die. What you describe is a cold, or hay-fever.

Kittywampus · 17/04/2020 20:13

I've got horrible hayfever too, and it's setting off my asthma too Sad

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 17/04/2020 20:18

My hayfever has kicked in really early this year. I've only had it the last 3 years

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 17/04/2020 20:19

I was 39 the first time I got it

Annarosez · 17/04/2020 20:22

The food deliveries, if that's the only outside contact you have had OP.

Agree hayfever!
Sneezing loads here, itchy eyes and sore throat.

Amboseli · 17/04/2020 20:33

I feel I've got a slight cold, v slight sore throat, headache. Definitely not hayfever as I'm allergic to grass pollen which is a bit later in the year. I haven't left the house for over a week. Nor has DH.
