Being put on Furlough - what would you study?

Hi, sending, first of all, love and thanks in advance for being here.

My firm are furloughing me until May 31, possibly longer. They have offered to pay for me to study. I work in an office, as an EA. If you had the time and they would pay, what would you ask to study?

I know I'm very lucky. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What job do you do?

Oakmaiden · 13/04/2020 15:06

Is EA Estate Agent? Or something else?

BrokenBrit · 13/04/2020 15:07

What are your interests? Do work have any limits or requirements on what you study?
Do you have plans to travel? Would learning a language suit? Or maybe studying literary works or history of art?

Or computing or coding or something that would teach you a new skill?

Maybe you would like to deepen your knowledge of philosophy, psychology or Buddhism?

Perhaps you have a secret yearning to learn higher level maths? Or maybe you’d like to brush up on dog training or grooming?
Politics? History?

The lists are endless. Enjoy, and what a lovely gesture from your work!

Project Management qualification.

mermaidbutmytailfelloff · 13/04/2020 15:16

Something to do with project management? Prince II used to be the go to qualification but I imagine there is something better now

RunningNinja79 · 13/04/2020 15:18

For me personally I'd like to relearn music or a language.

I would also consider a computer based course. I can use excel, but not enough as others. I can do V look ups and pivot tables, but I can't do Macros for example.

BSL?

ChrissieKeller61 · 13/04/2020 15:55

Do you want to stay in your current role ? Have you got a degree ? What parameters have the company set for the study, must it directly benefit the organisation?

bookgirl1982 · 13/04/2020 15:59

Cipd/hr?

alldressedupinblue · 13/04/2020 20:19

Thank you all - I'm going to look into Project Management as I think that's the most transferable area (even though it doesn't make my heart sing!)

I've heard of Prince in the past.
