I was admitted to hospital over the weekend. I'm home now. I'm terrified that I will have caught it in there. Please help me

Handhold here... practise some self care.. keep your fluids up, take some vit c if you have any, use a mouth wash if you have got one or salt/water gargle, get loads of rest and if you can get some vit d in your garden if you have one.. basically take really good care of yourself to help your body..

I'm sorry you are so worried OP. Do you have anxiety at all? Just that petrified seems quite an extreme response. It's natural to wonder and worry though as this is unprecedented times.
Anyway, as I'm sure you know, hospitals are working so hard to keep "green" (non covid) areas seperate from red (suspected or confirmed covid) areas and not allow cross contamination. They will have down their very best to protect everyone in there for other illnesses. Please try to get as much rest as you can and keep up your selfcare.

Hopefully this will put your mind at ease. One of my family was admitted to hospital and was there two days. He had a covid-positive patient on his ward.
As soon as he got home, I washed everything he had worn on a 60 degree wash. I used Milton to clean everything he brought home and he went straight into the shower.
That was over 3 weeks ago and he was absolutely fine. Smile

MrsVMorgan · 13/04/2020 18:28

Including his mobile phone etc.

SlightyJaded · 13/04/2020 18:30

Are you especially high risk OP?

The list of self care suggestions in the first answer are good things you can practically do to stay well.

I have been struggling with fear so do understand your worry but the best things you can do are: Take care of yourself - vitamins/exercise/throat gargle etc and Relax - however you can. Meditate, distraction whatever works for you.

You seem to have started so many threads about this - and if you keep starting threads, they obviously aren't giving you the relief you want. Is there anyone in real life you can talk to?

ChipotleBlessing · 13/04/2020 18:37

I think however many threads you start, you won’t be able to find reassurance here. The vast vast majority of people admitted to hospital at the minute don’t catch coronavirus. But the problem here is your anxiety. Do you have help for it normally?

oldbagface · 13/04/2020 18:57

Thanks all. I am on a lot of meds for it. I have suffered with it for decades.

I am at high risk. Smoker and asthmatic. Sedentry due to disability.

Two of kids have special needs.

I'm terrified
