How can I collect Dad’s things from hospital?

My darling Dad died of Covid-19 on Thursday morning in hospital miles from where I live.

I don’t know how to retrieve his things.

Usually a relative goes to collect in these circumstances.

I’m in bits and struggling to figure this out.

Im so so sorry for your loss. What are the hospital recommendations you do about his things?

Hi @Neome I'm so sorry for your loss.

We lost my FIL to the virus last week too, also miles away. The hospital has a bereavement service department which we found by Googling, they have been great in helping sort these things out. In our case my DH did end up driving over there to pick up FIL's belongings as he had to secure his house and pick up some paperwork needed to register his death. Hopefully they will be able to help you with suggesting how you can get his things back. Ours is only open Mon-Fri though, just a heads up.

Sorry again for your loss Flowers
