Just that really.

I've just finished Tiger King, as I'm sure most of the nation have Grin I'm unsure what to watch next. We have Netflix, Prime, Sky Q and Disney+. So please let me know what recommendations are for any of those!

I haven't read a book in around a year so open to suggestions too! (That can be downloaded onto my kindle)

I’m struggling to concentrate on TV, so we have been watching old favourite films on DVD, and currently working our way through the box set (actually a proper box, not streaming!) of This Life. I wanted to ditch all the DVDs a few years ago, and DP insisted we keep them. I am glad he did now.

I’m a big reader, so am getting through a book every few days. What sort of thing do you like to read?

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 09/04/2020 18:32

We’re watching Ozark on Netflix. It’s a bit heavy going for me so we’re rewatching Friday Night Dinner as well.

EasterBuns · 09/04/2020 18:32

The film contagion, can’t believe it was filmed in 2011.

TheSandman · 09/04/2020 18:34

What's Tiger King?

BlueGheko · 09/04/2020 18:35

Just binge watched series 4 of money heist on netflix, love that show. Not getting on great with series 3 of the ozarks and I loved the first 2.

Stellamboscha · 09/04/2020 18:48

Ben Macintyre -Agent Zigzag, Operation Mincemeat and best of all The Spy and the Traitor.
Wonderfully well researched and better than any spy novel. Can't concentrate on fiction or TV at the moment but get lost in these -pure escapism!

Noworrieshere · 09/04/2020 18:49

I am watching Gossip Girl on Amazon prime. I'm sure I've watched it before but it's totally mindless and glamorous and I'm really enjoying it.
I've just finished a book called Mudlarking which is a true story written by someone who spends her time searching for historic things hidden in the river Thames. She writes so beautifully, it was an escape from real-life. Fiction- I just finished Grown Ups by Marian Keyes and am now reading the latest Philip Pullman, forgotten it's name.

Mumshappy · 09/04/2020 18:59

Contagion. The Stranger on Netflix. Happy Valley.
I read about 4 books a week anyway. Usually thrillers.

FromTheAllotment · 09/04/2020 19:11

I’m reading Christina Henry books. Reimagined fairy tales. Have read Lost Boy and Alice and just finished Mermaid today. Great books, really cleverly done.

VideographybyLouBloom · 09/04/2020 19:17

I’m reading Defending Jacob at the moment and looking forward to the TV programme later in April - should have the book finished by then.
We’re also watching Better Call Saul, Tiger King and The Nest.

VideographybyLouBloom · 09/04/2020 19:18

Oh and looking forward to the return of After Life too!

VideographybyLouBloom · 09/04/2020 19:19

Sorry just remembered that we also watched Save Me Too on Sky

Sgtmajormummy · 09/04/2020 19:24

Films
We found a 100 Must-see Films bucket list. Each person put a mark next to the ones they wanted and using Amazon or Chili we’ve watched one most nights.

TV
I loved Project Runway and there’s a spin-off on Amazon I might watch. Plenty of series to choose from there.

Online
I’ve got (from a thread on here, thanks!) on Kindle a book called Year of Wonder. 365 pieces of classical music. I find them on YouTube and use that as a “me” project, along with a daily chat about patchwork with Pat Sloan.

On paper
DD (14) is reading a box set from The Works of classic children’s novels like Black Beauty. Plus others on Kindle.
I’m reading Philip Pullman’s Secret Commonwealth which was a Christmas present. Blush

UpToonGirl · 09/04/2020 19:25

I read The Stand the other week. One of my favourite books anyway but it did add to the surreal feeling of the situation.

Xylophonics · 09/04/2020 19:25

Watching Homeland and This Country. Recorded the next series of Flack which is out soon.

EasterBuns · 09/04/2020 19:26

Greys anatomy on amazon prime, they have series 1 to 14 so loads to go at.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 09/04/2020 19:27

Watched Tiger King on Netflix, so random!
Re-watching Spooks now.

vampirethriller · 09/04/2020 19:33

Just finished Daybreak on Netflix, good fun and surprisingly sweet.
Just started Unorthodox which is very good.

fussychica · 09/04/2020 19:33

Reading Tombland latest Shardlake book. Excellent.
Watching Lucky Man, House of Paper (Spanish), Intelligence, Britannia, Before We Die (Scandi) all great telly.

SilentBob · 09/04/2020 19:36

Just read rattle and the collector. I read another book yesterday but didn't rate it tbh and can't remember the title. Re-reading the complete works of Sherlock Holmes.

Watched tiger king, pose, ozark, the good doctor.

Fall asleep tv is, and always will be, re-runs of Jonathan Creek.

SilentBob · 09/04/2020 19:37

Also read you let me in. The book I couldn't remember was I am missing. Approximately 50% longer than it needed to be, imho.

covetingthepreciousthings · 09/04/2020 19:38

I've been watching the Disney Imagineering story documentary on Disney +, I didn't know whether I'd be interested, but actually it's been quite good escapism. DH has been enjoying it too, neither of us are really Disney fans but it's fascinating what technologies they created and used even back in the 50s & 60s.

a12345b · 09/04/2020 19:39

Dr House on Prime

ReturnofSaturn · 09/04/2020 19:58

Reading Persuasion by Jane Austen.

Just finished Narcos and Narcos Mexico. Looking for something new now to watch.

Knocksomesense · 09/04/2020 20:00

We've just started on bates motel on prime. Only a few episodes in and it looks good
