Has anyone had a (suspected) mild case?

DH and I haven't felt right for about a week, best I can describe it as is malaise. No fever, no flu symptoms. DH has a tight chest every now and then but could be anxiety. I have been coughing in the mornings but that is fairly normal for me, I've had a cough for probably 2-3 months (I had a virus that took a while to recover from in Dec/Jan) I've also had acid reflux at night for about a month completely unexplained.

This morning I coughed and found it hard to catch my breath. When I looked at my hand after coughing there was a blob of mucus with a streak blood in it. I'd only had a cup of tea and orange juice so it was not food or anything.

I've been monitoring it and had nothing else come up since.

Just interested to hear if anyone has experienced similar or had mild covid-19.

First symptom for me was collapsing after. Short work, sudden diarrhoea and fainting with chills, unable to get home without being half carried. Slept for hours. No further symptoms till 10 days later, when totally achy. Checked for uti but nothing there. Collapsed into bed for about 8 days, mostly sleeping, and not very with it. Loss of taste appetite, and smell . Slightly raised temp, more chills. Awful pain in chest like an elephant standing on it, unable to take more than very shallow breaths. Gradually recovered before the need to go to hospital. I am on various pills for diabetes, hypertension, gout and allergies. What may have have been very lucky is that I had a jab against pneumonia last year, otherwise I think it could have been much worse. Still very exhausted and sleeping more than usual but otherwise ok, strangely partner has not had any symptoms. Doctor phoned me and thinks I did have it. It was awful and much worse than flu

Should read short walk

I’ve had something, don’t know whether it was corona. Had chills and sweats, diarrhoea, sore throat, inflamed glands, fatigue and a cough. Was poorly for a week, picked up for a day or two and then got worse for another week. Then had chest tightness, shortness of breath and upper back ache. Now just very very tired, glands still enlarged but generally on the mend.

I think I got it from work after a child coughed all over me about 5 days before I got ill. Dd has it a week after me but more mildly and has bounced back quicker.

Will never know if it was corona unless I have an antibody test.

I've had something, started three weeks ago, but who knows what it was.

Tightness in chest where I could 'feel' my lungs sat in my chest.

Ache in the legs which gradually got worse.

Bad headache over 3 days.

Very mild cough

Fine now but no sense of smell for 10 days now.

TheClitterati · 10/04/2020 08:44

Yes a couple of weeks ago: fever, intense chills, fatigue, very tired, headaches.

Nothing as bad as flu - I kept WFH though badly. No coughing.

Lasted 5 days and then one day I woke up and felt much better.

merrygoround51 · 10/04/2020 08:47

I had a virus that had all the hallmarks in early January and ended up going to out of ours GP as I felt I couldn’t breathe. That was too early for covid but does indicate that there are lots of viruses going around that can act in a similar but ultimately less deadly way

Sunshineandflipflops · 10/04/2020 08:49

I’ve had a tight chest for a couple of weeks and a very slight cough (wouldn’t say persistent). Headaches on and off (have one now) but that’s all really so I’m lucky if this is it.
It’s difficult as we’re still going to get the same illnesses we would otherwise have got but everyone is much more hyper aware of it being COVID now so who knows.

bonzo77 · 10/04/2020 08:54

DH felt a bit rough. Had a fever for about 36 hours then a dry cough with intermittent mild breathlessness and headaches. Still a bit of a cough after 2 weeks but not that bad.

toryandproud · 10/04/2020 08:57

I've had a sore throat and off tummy for over a week, no idea if covid related or not but que sera

gingerbreadslice · 10/04/2020 09:08

Weird a few people have said about the single swollen tonsil I currently have that and I've had it for 9 days now I'm due to get a prescription for antibiotics today. Does that mean if god forbid this was it that you'd recover fine as isnt it day 10 people sort of get better or get worse?

Knobblybobbly · 10/04/2020 09:10

The first week when the social distancing was put in place I had a terrible headache for about a week. My ribs hurt when I breathed in. I felt “off colour” but not ill enough to even consider it being covid. But now I’m just really hope it was!

Outfoxed · 10/04/2020 09:34

Had a nasty cough in February, then started getting chest pains, which for some reason I hadn't linked to the coughing. One evening the pains got worse and I felt cold and tingly and sick and woozy and was so sure I was having a heart attack. Turned out I had a pretty high fever which was causing all that, and the chest pains was from hacking up my lungs all week. Felt like shit for a week or two after that incident, but the fever went down the following day.
Not sure if I had it, or if it was just regular flu because I'm living in a new country and quite susceptible to all their bugs which I dont have much immunity to.

14yearsandcounting · 10/04/2020 10:16

Had a week of feeling so tired I can only liken it to being 10 weeks pregnant, couldn’t sit down because I’d fall asleep as soon as I did, slight cough, slight temperature and chills. Had a lemsip and realised I couldn’t taste it, or anything else, no sense of smell, I even unclogged the bathroom drains without retching! That was two weeks ago energy levels back to normal chills gone no fever, never had a cough or any other cold symptoms but still can’t smell or taste. I don’t think I had it because no one else in the house got any symptoms although I was carefully to wash my hands constantly and bleach all surfaces regularly. Guess we’ll never know?

BearSoFair · 10/04/2020 10:28

DS1 (18) did in March, we think. He was at a gig in early March, six days later he was suddenly exhausted and had a splitting headache that nothing could shift for 2 days, then 4 or 5 days of feeling like he was coming down with a cold, complete loss of taste and smell for 18 days. At this point (29 days) he can smell normally and taste sweet flavours, but savoury is still pretty much a blank. He had Marmite on toast yesterday and couldn't even taste that!

The only reason I have a slight doubt over whether or not it was CV is that none of the rest of us (me, DH, DD 12 and DS2 10) ever had even the mildest symptom. I would have expected at least one of us, if not all of us, to have come down with it too!

MyBeloved · 10/04/2020 10:33

I have been diagnosed by my medic pal, so not a definitive diagnosis but he knows what he's talking about!
I had a few days of tiredness and hoarse voice, then a shortness of breath and an ache in my front and upper back. Today not so tired at all but lungs feel heavy. Sense of taste has disappeared. Really scared! It has been about 5/6 days so far.
Flowers to all who are going through this.

Portulaca · 10/04/2020 10:54

DH & I were wondering whether we've had mild cv. DH had what he thought was a virus in Feb with sore eyes, mild cough, lost his voice for about 2 weeks, headaches, v tired. Didn't cross his mind that early on it might be cv. Saw Practice Nurse & got drops for eye infection, and she told him there was whole spate of people with this "virus". She asked if we had been travelling to China (& other known countries at the time). No we hadn't.

I got eye infection too & so did DD. I also had swollen sude if tongue & couldn't talk, inflamed lining of nose which kept bleeding & wouldn't heal (has now), and still have swollen gland in neck & bad taste in mouth. Had lots of exhaustion too ( but put that down to my cfs & fibro). DS has had lots of bad headaches too.

Really don't know if it was or not. We had been in contact with someone who works on cruise ships and I know she has been self isolating. It's possible or it might be another virus doing rounds.

Portulaca · 10/04/2020 10:55

sude if side of.

longtompot · 10/04/2020 21:39

I woke up Mother's Day feeling a bit rubbish with really sore skin and a headache. I didn't think much of it, just plodded on through the day, but but the end of it, my joints hurt, even my finger joints, my head was banging and I felt freezing cold, with a small temp and my skin was hot to touch. I don't really know if my thermometer is accurate, but it was raised by 2 deg from what it usually is. This lasted a few days with an added dry cough. Its now however many weeks since MD and I still have a cough, some days worse that others, and have a very tickly chest/lungs :( I wish I could test to find out if I've had it, have the antibodies or if this was coincidence.

JulietTango · 10/04/2020 22:04

I've ached and felt dizzy for most of this week. I had to take paracetamol to get to sleep one night. This morning started with a sore throat. I've also had a bit of a cough for most of the week.
No temperature or breathlessness though.
I'd like to think I've had it very mildly and have a bit of immunity for if I get it again

gingerbreadslice · 11/04/2020 22:49

How is everyone on here? I'm on antibiotics for this sore throat day two of taking them it doesn't hurt as bad during the day but morning and night it hurts. I'm exhausted but I think it is just tonsillitis I keep getting really bad shortness of breath but I think it's Anxiety as it goes for hours again and I can breathe normally.

KingaRoo · 11/04/2020 22:52

OP did you speak to a doctor about coughing up blood?

SMJYellow · 11/04/2020 22:57

Portulaca - what did your eye infection feel like?

TheEndIsBillNighy · 11/04/2020 23:05

I’d been in French Alps. Had v mild diarrhoea, next morning dry scratchy throat, with a cough I couldn’t suppress (but wasn’t overly persistent). That same night I was absolutely exhausted. Hallucinated all night and woke up with a temp of 38.6, aching everywhere and couldn’t move. Slept on and off for days and had splitting headache. Lost my sense of smell and taste on days 7-12 of symptoms. Became exhausted quickly. It lasted about 14 days in total, but was very on & off for the last 7 days.

allmycats · 11/04/2020 23:05

Mid Feb started with headaches, then became a dreadful dry sore throat, felt like a knife in throat, this followed by an awful dry cough for days on end to accompany sore throat and throughout a feeling of chest pain that I thought was anxiety, during this time I also started coughing up a clear fluid not phlegm, I was utterly wiped out and it lasted for nearly 3 weeks, the sore throat came and went, but the cough co it used I sou ded like a seal ! The exhaustion and pai in front of chest and between shoulder blades was awful. After circa 3 weeks I started to improve, it was truly awful, I don't usually get cold, flu etc but this wiped me out. Did I have coronavirus? I don't know as I did not see a doctor, just took paracetamol, over the counter throat sweats and cough medicines, lemsip type stuff, it was bloody awful.

TheEndIsBillNighy · 11/04/2020 23:06

Also meant to say I had a tight feeling in my chest and it felt like I’d inhaled smoke as my throat “burned”. Also had unusually sensitive teeth & gums.
